Referral Process
To begin the process of obtaining a referral, contact the appropriate person in your home school district. Each school district has their own policies and procedures regarding referrals. District approval is not automatic.
High School Contact Information
Every school district has the right to withdraw a referral for a student. This can be done for a variety of reasons. Check with your individual district for rules concerning referral withdrawal. Attendance is a major factor for both the referring district and for Wellsprings. Our school day is from 9:00am-3:00pm every day, Monday-Friday, except when there is official notice of early release or other changes.

Referral Based Enrollment
Most of our students in recent years have come to Wellsprings on referral from various Lane County public school districts. The per pupil operating funds received by the district for a student’s education are split between the district where the student is enrolled and the alternative program they attend. Parents of a student on referral by law cannot be asked to pay any further tuition costs, even though the amount we receive from the school district is hundreds or thousands of dollars less than our actual costs per student. Voluntary contributions towards that difference, however, are gratefully accepted—and tax deductible!
